Engine lineup includes 1.5 i-VTEC petrol and i-DTEC diesel engines.
Honda Cars India has revealed the engine lineup and technical specs of the Honda BR-V at a media event. It will be available in three powertrain variants, and offer two engine options.
The BR-V petrol variant is powered by a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine from the Honda City, which produces 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. It is paired to a 6-speed manual or a CVT that comes with steering-mounted paddle shifters, sending power to the front wheels. The fuel consumption is rated at 15.4 km/L and 16 km/L (ARAI certified) for the manual and CVT variants, respectively.
The diesel variant packs a 1.5-liter i-DTEC engine also sourced from the Honda City, which outputs 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque. It is only available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Honda BR-V diesel is capable of averaging a decent 21.9 km/L (ARAI certified).

The Honda BR-V will launch for sale in the market on May 5, 2016. It slots in the family SUV segment that comprises of the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster, and will bank on interior space and 3-row seating to attract prospective customers.
