Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India are having a solid run this year.
The company updated its range of scooters with the HET (Honda Eco Technology) at the beginning of the year and topped it up with subsequent launches of the Honda CB Trigger 150cc motorcycle and the Dream Neo 110cc commuter.
This year also saw the Japanese giant surpass Bajaj Auto to seize the second position in the world's largest two wheeler market (Indian two wheeler market overtook that of China last year with an estimated annual demand of 40million units). It has to be said that parting ways with Hero has done a world of good for Honda as the latter could concentrate fully on its wholly owned subsidiary.
The good news is Honda is gearing up to launch another product. Without revealing details, Honda has teased us about a launch which is scheduled on June 12th. The invite has a butterfly on it and asks "Are you ready to fly?"
Going by the previous ads, the butterfly could denote something environmentally friendly. Anyway we will stop short of speculating. However, according to a tweet user "@Cookie_139", the upcoming launch is of a scooter that goes by the name Honda Activa-i.
Another hunch is that it could be a scooter with a bigger engine. As you know, Honda doesn't have a product in place in the 125cc scooter segment.
