A minor cosmetic update to India's best selling automatic scooter.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has just launched the the third generation of the Activa for India, named as the Honda Activa 3G. The updated scooter features new side panels, indicators and taillamp along with a new 3D logo on either sides.
The Activa 3G maintains the same engine as the outgoing model. It is powered by the proven 110 cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 8 PS power and 8.74 Nm of torque that gets channeled to the road via a CVT. The engine is fitted with the Honda Eco Technology (HET), an existing feature, that gives it a 60 km/l fuel efficiency in internal tests.
Other existing features on the scooter include the Combined Braking System, full metal body, tubeless tyres, keylock shutter and maintenance-free battery.
The Activa 3G is priced at INR 48,852 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and would be available in two new colours, Trance blue metallic and Lusty red metallic, apart from the existing Black, White and Geny grey metallic options. The company said dealer dispatches have already started across India.
Honda also announced that they would be launching a total of 15 new models in 2015, out of which eight would be cosmetic upgrades.
