The company’s new 4S (Sales/ Service/ Spares/ Safety) facility was inaugurated at Platinum Honda, Zirakpur (District Mohali), Punjab. Honda has doubled its network count and inaugurated a significant 3,300 new touch-points in the last 5 years (FY’18-19 vs FY’2013-14 end). With the inauguration of the new facility, Honda’s total network count in India has reached 6,000 outlets.
Speaking about the new outlet, Minoru Kato – President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said:
I am delighted to be present here on milestone 1,000th Honda dealer inauguration. Honda also fulfilled its commitment of providing 6,000 network touchpoints to our valuable customers by the end of current financial year. This landmark achievement brings Honda closer to the hearts of its customers, who have reposed their trust in the brand.
All Honda Authorized Exclusive Dealerships (HEADs) offer a 4S setup including the industry norm of Sales, Service and Spare Parts. The 4th ‘S’, unique to Honda, stands for Safety Riding Promotion.
In other updates, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is ready to comply with the safety norms. The company is now preparing to update its portfolio with the upcoming emission norms. The next-generation model of Honda’s best selling product, the Activa, was recently spotted at the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) facility. The next-generation model, along with the rest of the company’s portfolio, would arrive with fuel-injection system.
However, not all products would go across the BS-VI upgrade, and Honda would axe some of its low selling models. Kato did not mention the models that would be discontinued post the BS-VI upgrade.
