Will be sportier and more powerful than the CB Trigger.
The Honda 160 cc motorcycle which was to launch by the end of September, has been delayed a little further. Indian Autos Blog learns that the new Honda would be retailed from the end of October or early November.
While there are no technical details available at this point, Mr. Y.S. Guleria, Vice President, sales & marketing, Honda Motorcycle Scooter India Ltd. (HMSI), had earlier told Indian Autos Blog that the styling will not be inspired from the edgy Honda CX-01 concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo.
Expected to replace the Honda CB Trigger which didn't quite create an impact, the new premium 160 cc bike will be positioned above the Honda CB Unicorn which is soldiering on despite its age, and below the CBR150R. The vehicle will be more powerful and sportier than the CB Trigger.
HMSI is the market leader in the automatic scooter segment and has a strong presence in all sub-segments of the commuter motorcycle space. However, the 150-160 cc premium motorcycle segment is proving to be a challenging sector for the Japanese automaker, where it is loosing out to compatriot Yamaha.
