Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch a completely new 200cc premium motorcycle by the end of this financial year, states a report from PTI. The premium motorcycle in question is the Hero XTreme 200S.
According to the media house, a person in the know of the development said:
Having maintained its leadership in motorcycles, Hero is now looking at further consolidating the pole position with an enhanced focus on premium bike segment and scooters.
Among the scooters, Hero is already planning to launch three new models by the next financial year, and among them, the Hero Aava will be launched this fiscal.

On the brand’s annual report for the previous financial year, Hero MotoCorp CMD Pawan Munjal had told the shareholders:
We have lined up half a dozen new products - across segments, including the premium and scooter categories - for launch in the next fiscal (FY'18) to drive our growth.
The Hero XTreme gets an all-new 200 cc single cylinder air-cooled engine. It makes 18.6 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 17.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm.
The bike uses telescopic forks at the front and monoshock at the rear. The brakes will include discs at both ends. Expect ABS at least as an option.
