Hero MotoCorp has revised the price of the Xtreme 200R. The 200 cc motorcycle now retails at INR 90,900*, which is INR 1,000 higher compared to the previous price - INR 89,900*.
Despite the marginal price increase, the Hero Xtreme 200R continues to remain the most affordable 200 cc motorcycle in the Indian market. Its close rivals Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V retail at INR 1.12 lakh* and INR 1.11 lakh* respectively. In fact, in terms of pricing, the Hero Xtreme 200R is closer to the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar 180.
The performance numbers of the Hero Xtreme 200R's 199.6 cc, SOHC 2-Valve, air-cooled engine are lowest in the segment (displacement) - 18.4 PS at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is linked to a five-speed transmission. Anchoring tasks are performed by a 276 mm disc at the front and a 220 mm unit at the rear. A single-channel ABS is standard. The feature list includes LED DRL, LED tail lamp, semi-digital instrument console as well. Shock absorption hardware includes 37 mm telescopic hydraulic suspension up front and a seven-step adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp is working on a fully-faired version of the Xtreme 200R, and this motorcycle was spotted in production guise earlier this month. A report from September 2018 claimed that the company would introduce four bikes in the 200 cc segment. The Xtreme 200R is already available while the Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T would arrive soon. The fully faired version of the Xtreme 200R would complete the list. However, it may not carry the Xtreme badge, and Hero MotoCorp could introduce the fully-faired motorcycle under the Karizma brand.
