Hero MotoCorp has sent out invites for a launch event that is scheduled on 1 May. The event will most definitely see the arrival of the much awaited XPulse 200 duo in the Indian market. However, reports suggest that the company may use the opportunity to launch the fully-faired Xtreme 200R/Karizma 200, a motorcycle that was seen in production-ready guise earlier this month, also.

The fully-faired Hero MotoCorp product was seen in a short video posted on YouTube recently. A report from December last year stated that Hero MotoCorp was working on a 200 cc fully-faired motorcycle that will share its underpinnings and engine with the Hero Xtreme 200R.
The upcoming model, like the XPulse 200 duo, may come with a BS-VI compliant motor and feature fuel injection tech. The BS-IV compliant Xtreme 200R, for reference, uses a carburettor. The maximum power and maximum torque delivered by the 199.6 cc single-cylinder 2-valve, SOHC, air-cooled motor, however, is not likely to be much different from the carburetted version's 18.4 PS and 17.1 Nm respectively. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed transmission.
The fully-faired model's instrument console is shared with the XPulse 200, not the Xtreme 200R. Thus, we can expect Bluetooth connectivity with integrated turn-by-turn navigation.
The alloy wheels are identical to that of the Xtreme 200R. So, it will most likely use the same 100/80-17 and 130/70-R17 profile tyres made by MRF for the naked roadster on the front and the rear respectively.

The Hero Xtreme 200R is priced at INR 90,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). The fully-faired model, with the extra features, will carry a premium over the naked roadster and its ex-showroom (Delhi) price could be above the INR 1 lakh mark.
