Hero to launch Duet and Maestro Edge scooters today - IAB Report

Set to rival the Honda Activa. 

Hero Motocorp will launch the Hero Duet and the Hero Maestro Edge scooters today, in New Delhi.

The Duet and the Maestro Edge are powered by a new 110.9 cc engine.

Both scooters will be positioned in the 110 cc segment in India, rivaling the Honda Activa, which is India's best selling scooter. Interestingly, they will be powered by a Hero-developed 110.9 cc single-cylinder engine with power and torque outputs of 8.43 PS at 8,000 rpm and 8.3 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired to a CVT. The fuel efficiencies are expected to be announced today.

The Maestro Edge measures 1,840 mm in length, 695 mm in width, 1,190 mm in height and 1,265 mm in wheelbase. It has a ground clearance of 155 mm and kerb weight of 109-110 kg depending on the variant.

The Duet measures 1,830 mm in length, 725 mm in width, 1,140 mm in height and 1,240/1,245 mm in wheelbase (depending on the variant). It too has a ground clearance of 155 mm and kerb weight of 115-116 kg.

The only difference between the scooters, apart from their looks, is that the Duet gets an all-metal body.

The Maestro Edge will see features like a mobile charging socket, under seat luggage lamp, a telescopic front suspension, external fuel filler, 12-inch alloys, integrated braking, LED taillight and a part digital-part analog cluster with service reminder. It'll come in 7 colors.

The Duet offers the above features in addition to an all metal body. It'll be available in 6 colors. The two scooters reportedly share platforms.
