Its almost everyday now that we get new spyshots of the Ford EcoSport from readers across India.
Yesterday we blogged about Vinod's encounter with a black test mule and today we're going to let our good friend Daniel George from Trivandrum record his account of the sighting of the EcoSport.
Over to you Daniel!
I am Daniel residing at Trivandrum and a frequent reader of IndianAutosBlog.com.
Yesterday evening, at around 8 PM, I spotted 3 test mules of the soon to be launched Ford EcoSport at a fuel pump near my home. I slammed the brakes and steered towards them as I am among the millions who is waiting for months and deferring buying decision just for this car to launch.
Here are some of the details I was able to understand -
- Firstly all the three are petrol models - 1.5L Automatic (one in chill metallic), 1.5L Manual and 1L Ecoboost (both in Kinectic Blue) all in range-topping Titanium variants.
- The cars look ready to hit the market, a February launch is not impossible.
- Even though the EcoSport's design has S.U.V written all over, it is still a compact car with interior space of a large hatchback.
- The sub-4m length has downsized its boot space to that of a hatch. The mules had all the bells and whistles like push button start, steering-mounted audio controls, etc.
All in all, I feel that my wait was worth it and if pricing starts from the higher side of 6L this is the next big thing for Ford India.
Ford, please launch it quickly, we cant wait any longer!
