Second bodystyle of Fiat Tipo range.
Omniauto has posted clear spyshots of the Fiat Tipo hatchback, which features lesser camouflage on the front end, while the rear-end is still heavily wrapped up, although several renderings offer an insight into final design.
The front-end looks largely identical to the Fiat Tipo sedan, which is already available for sale in Italy at prices starting from EUR 12,500.The rear end of the Fiat Tipo hatchback will sport a long pair of taillamps that extend to the side, a chrome strip connecting the taillamps, subtle rear spoiler and concealed exhaust pipes.
Engine lineup will be sourced from its sedan brother, which includes a 90 PS 1.3-liter and 120 PS 1.6-liter Multijet diesel engines, along with a 1.6-liter E-Torq and a 1.4-liter ‘FIRE’ petrol engines. A 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic will serve as its gearbox options.
As for its world premiere, FCA is expected to take the wraps off the Tipo hatchback at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March. It will be manufactured at the TOFAS-Fiat plant in Turkey, and exported to limited markets, initially.
