Indian Autos Blog reader Mr. Saahil Kapoor spotted the Fiat Punto Evo facelift near Mumbai's Gateway of India, where the hatchback's commercials were being shot. The Punto facelift, at least for India, is christened 'Punto Evo', and will be launched in the coming weeks.
The refreshed premium hatch gets a new face with redesigned headlights, grille and bumper with plenty of chrome elements. The headlights are carried over from the Avventura concept shown at the Auto Expo, and the grille is seemingly inspired by the Fiat Viaggio sedan. Over to the sides, changes come in the form of new alloy wheels and wing mirrors with integrated turn signals.
Designers have limited the changes at the rear to reprofiled taillights and a new bumper with chrome-enclosed reflectors. A new Orange body color, as seen in these snaps, will be offered on the Evo in addition to several other existing colors.
Inside, the hatchback gets a new dashboard which it shares with the 2014 Linea. Unlike its sibling which takes on beige plastics, the Punto gets an all-black layout on this variant. A rear AC vent will be included in its features list.
Mechanically, the Punto Evo is expected to chug on with the existing 1.2-, 1.4- and 1.3-liter engines, the latter being a diesel unit available in two power states. This refresh should enable the hatchback to better compete with its rivals listed below.
