The 2019 Toyota Avanza Veloz features split headlamps like the Toyota Voxy and Toyota Vellfire.

At the front, the 2019 Toyota Avanza features split headlamps like the Toyota Voxy and Toyota Vellfire, a larger grille in gloss black, new fog lamp housing in gloss black and a more angular bumper. At the rear, changes include a sportier bumper, fresh tailgate garnish, circular light reflectors, new roof spoiler and revised L-shaped tail lamps. Some of these are exclusive to the Veloz variant.

Moving to the interior, Toyota has redesigned the centre console and used a silver frame for giving it a more lavish look. New comfort and convenience features include steering-mounted audio controls and automatic climate control. We are yet to know whether passive keyless entry and engine start-stop button are part of the lifecycle action.

No word yet on the specifications of the facelifted Toyota Avanza and facelifted Toyota Avanza Veloz. The old model is available with a 1.3-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine that produces 96.5 PS and 12.3 kg.m (120.62 Nm) of torque and a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine that develops 104 PS and 13.9 kg.m (136.31 Nm) of torque. 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic are the transmission choices. These are very likely to continue serving.

The 2019 Toyota Avanza Veloz, as well as the regular 2019 Toyota Avanza, should go on sale in Indonesia in some weeks. At the same time, Daihatsu may release a similarly updated version of the platform twin, the Xenia. In India, Toyota is gearing up for the launch of the tenth generation Camry this month and has no plans drawn up for the Avanza or Rush.
