Toyota Avanza was first launched in 2003 as a mini MPV in the Indonesian market. The car was manufactured by Daihatsu and sold by Toyota. In 2019, Toyota Avanza was given a facelift. Check out the latest update of the Toyota Avanza in India below.
Toyota Avanza is currently on sale in several markets across the globe. While the Avanza received considerable success in the global market, it makes little sense for Toyota to introduce this entry-level MPV here in India. In fact, Toyota has successfully remained the top brand in the MPV segment with the Toyota Innova Crysta. In addition, Toyota also offered the Vellfire in the high-end MPV space. On top of that, the demand for MPV in India is not tempting enough for the Japanese car brand to add another MPV to its line-up.

The existing Toyota Avanta in the global market features split headlamps and a dominant grille with gloss black applique. These design elements are widely used on other premium MPVs on Hyundai’s global line-up like Alphard or Vellfire. Toyota Avanta is offering a few highlight features including steering-mounted audio controls and automatic climate control. Toyota Avanta is provided with safety features like ABS, EBD, driver and front passenger airbags, security alarm, and ISOFIX.
Under the hood, Toyota Avanta derives power from a 1.5-litre engine with VVTi technology. Mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission system, this engine pulls out a top power of 102 PS and 136 Nm.
Toyota Avanza is unlikely to go on sale in India. At the moment, Toyota is selling Toyota Innova Crysta and Toyota Vellfire in the space of MPV. The Innova Crysta has been the top-selling model of the segment.
Considering the current price of the Toyota Avanza in the global market, we can expect the Avanza to be priced around INR 6 lakh if it was launched in India.
