Powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor.
The Hyundai i20 Active for Europe has been unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA). The company released the fist set of photos of the Euro-spec i20 Active earlier this month, and confirmed the market launch for early 2016.
Akin to the Hyundai i20 Active that debuted in India this year, the Euro-spec model features the rugged looking exterior package that includes redesigned front and rear bumpers with skid plates, side body cladding made of plastic, revamped suspension system and 20 mm extra ground clearance.
Features like the projector headlamps and the LED daytime running lights that are offered exclusively on the Hyundai i20 Active in India and Euro-spec i20, which are passed on to the Euro i20 Active.
The interior of the Hyundai i20 Active for Europe benefits from aluminium pedals and a touchscreen infotainment system.
Unlike the Indian i20 Active, the European variant will be powered by the new 1.0-litre T-GDI turbo 3-cylinder petrol engine, capable of 100 PS or 120 PS maximum power. While the regular i20 hatchback in Europe is currently powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine (in two tunes - 75 PS and 84 PS) and a 1.4-litre petrol motor developing 100 PS, the aforementioned 1.0-litre T-GDI engine will make it to the regular i20 by the end of this year.
