At a GM press conference today, Chevrolet has confirmed that the flagship Trailblazer SUV will launch in October 2015, followed by the Chevrolet Spin MPV in early 2017.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer has been spotted testing multiple times, featuring an exterior identical to the model sold in Thailand. It will be based on a ladder-frame chassis from the Chevrolet Colorado pick-up, much like its rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Ford Endeavour.
Inside, the Trailblazer will feature power-adjustable (driver only) leather seats, ABS, dual front airbags, auto HVAC, a touchscreen Chevrolet MyLink entertainment system with navigation, DVD playback and a reverse camera.
Powering the Trailblazer is a 2.8-liter four-cylinder Duramax diesel engine delivering 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque, the latter being a class-leading figure. It will be paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission, as seen in the above spyshot. Depending on the trim, it will equipped with a standard 2WD or 4WD system.
Reports suggest that the Chevrolet Trailblazer will initially be imported through the CBU route, It appears that GM India are awaiting the Thai plant to start production of the MY2016 Trailblazer, as told by IAB's sources.
