The Chevrolet Prisma, as known to regular Indian Autos Blog readers, is the Chevrolet Onix with a boot specifically developed for Brazil.
To get a better picture, the Onix and the Prisma are for Brazil what Sail U-VA and Sail are for India. We have brought you the spyshots of the sedan and this time a high end LTZ variant of the car with all bells and whistles was caught testing in Brazil by Mr. Roth Juarez, a reader of Carros.uol.com.br.
The spy shot also exposes the new brown paint work which is not available on the hatchback. The designers have done a very good job of amalgamating the boot without messing up the looks.
Unlike its hatchback buddy Onix, the Prisma sedan will get a bigger 1.4 litre flex fuel motor which produces 106 bhp of power. Transmission options will be a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The LTZ variant is loaded with features like alloy wheels, safety equipment like airbags, ABS and also comes with Chevrolet's MyLink multimedia infotainment system.
Carros.uol.com.br reports that the Chevrolet Prisma will be unveiled at Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil on February 26th. If GM India's controlling stake was not at the hands of SAIC at the time the Sail twins were given a go ahead in India, the Onix and Prisma probably could have entered the sub continent instead.
