Bugatti showcased the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse Meo Costantini at the Dubai Motor Show. After the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Jean Bugatti and Jean-Pierre Wimille editions, this is the third special model to be part of the “Les Légendes de Bugatti” series.
Like the previous cars in the series, this is also based on the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, while paying homage to Meo Costantini, who was a close friend of the company’s founder, Ettore Bugatti. He was the head of Bugatti’s factory race team for many years and was also a driver, winning the Targa Florio two times in the Bugatti Type 35, one of the most successful racing cars of all time.
The exterior of the “Meo Costantini” is finished in a new paint color called “Bugatti Dark Blue Sport”, and has been specially developed for the vehicle along with the aluminium parts which are hand-polished and coated with clear lacquer. To mark Costantini’s victory at Targa Florio, the silhouette of the historic race course is painted on the underside of the rear wing in “Bugatti Dark Blue Sport.”
Costantini’s signatures are laser-engraved into the aluminium tank and oil caps and painted in silver. The interior is completely wrapped in “Gaucho” and “Lake Blue” color leather, and finished with contrasting light-blue stitching. The head restraints are embroidered with Meo Costantini’s signature whilst the cover of the rear center box features the silhouette of the Targa Florio race route. Racing scenes and vintage car motifs are laser-engraved on the doors.
The Legend Edition “Meo Costantini” is priced at € 2.09 million (INR 17.74 crores), excluding taxes and transport. The production is limited to only three vehicles.
