Maruti Suzuki has given the Alto 800 another facelift and upgraded it to meet the more stringent safety norms and even the BS-VI emission norms. The 2019 Maruti Alto ("800" suffix now deleted from the name) has been priced from INR 2.94 lakh.
With the second facelift, the Maruti Alto 800 has gained a new upper grille and lower grille and newly designed bumper. The visual changes aren't limited to the exterior. Inside, the entry-level hatchback now features a new dashboard, centre console, sleeker central air vents and 'Smart Play Dock' infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity.
The Maruti Alto 800 is a lot safer now. Standard safety features include ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, driver airbag, speed alert system, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder. Some of these features were not available even as an option before. It complies with the upcoming crash and pedestrian safety regulation. Colour options include Uptown Red, Superior White, Silky Silver, Granite Grey, Mojito Green and Cerulian Blue.
The 2019 Maruti Alto is powered by a BS-VI compliant F8D 796 cc three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine produces 35.3 kW (47.99 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 69 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. It is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Thanks to the BS-VI upgrade, the F8D engine's NOx emission has reduced by nearly 25%. The fuel economy rating of the new model is 22.05 km/l.
