BMW X7 to be launched in India on 25 July

After being spied on several occasions previously, the BMW X7 will finally be launched in India on 25 July 2019. It is expected to be priced at around INR 1.25 crore (ex-showroom).

The BMW X7 comes with 7-seat configuration as standard, but customers can opt for a 6-seat version.

The X7, the grandest member of the X family, will be introduced in the range-topping M50d engine variant, which was displayed at the annual India Art Fair earlier this year. It is going to be launched as a CBU import. BMW will introduce locally assembled xDrive40i and xDrive30d engine variants later this year. The xDdrive50i engine variant has been given a miss for the Indian market.

  • xDrive40i - 3.0-litre petrol engine (340 PS/450 Nm), 8-speed automatic transmission, AWD
  • xDrive50i - 4.4-litre petrol engine (462 PS/650 Nm), 8-speed automatic transmission, AWD
  • xDrive30d - 3.0-litre diesel engine (265 PS/620 Nm), 8-speed automatic transmission, AWD
  • M50d - 3.0-litre diesel engine (400 PS/760 Nm), 8-speed automatic transmission, AWD

The BMW X7 measures 5,151 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, 1,805 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. It features a noticeably large kidney grille, BMW Laserlight with Adaptive LED Headlights, 22-inch wheels and slim LED rear lights. On the inside, it features BMW Live Cockpit Professional comprising a 12.3-inch fully virtual instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central display, an electric three-part panoramic glass roof, five-zone automatic climate control and Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge.

Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge illuminates over 15,000 graphic patterns which makes a reminiscent of a starlit sky. It is done with the help of LED lights which falls evenly all across the roof glass surface. This optional feature costs additional €850/INR 68K in BMW's home market. The biggest SAV is made in 6- and 7-seat configurations.
