BMW India has announced that the BMW Motorrad models BMW S1000XR, BMW S1000RR, BMW R nineT and the BMW R1200GS will be presented at the Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida next week. The company did not mention the BMW G310R.

Perceived as an adventure tourer with the characteristics of a sports bike, the BMW S1000XR uses the powertrain of the S1000RR. The 999 cc in-line four-cylinder motor produces 160 hp and is mated to a six-speed gearbox that is governed by the Gear Shift Assist Pro.

The chassis is also derived from the R model and the swingarm is extended on the XR for a longer wheelbase of 1,549 mm (an increase of 109 mm compared to the R). The BMW S1000XR is currently not on sale in India.

The 1.0-litre four-pot mill on the BMW S1000RR superbike generates 198 hp of maximum power at 13,500 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 10,500 rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. After a substantial upgrade to the bike that was presented at the INTERMOT 2014, the model was given two new colour options - Slack Storm metallic and Racing Red non-metallic, since mid-2015. The S1000RR is available in India.

The BMW R nineT is powered by an air/oil-cooled flat twin (Boxer) 1,170 cc engine that has two camshafts and four radially aligned valves per cylinder and a central balancer shaft, that produces 110 hp at 7,550 rpm and and 119 Nm at 6,000 rpm, mated to a six-speed transmission.

The 2016 model year update gave the R nineT two choices of hand-brushed exposed aluminum fuel tanks and heated handlebar grips as optional add-on.

Powered by the same flat-twin 1,170 cc engine as the BMW R nineT, the BMW R1200GS produces 125 hp at 7,750 rpm and 125 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The regular R1200GS received a light white non-metallic colour scheme replacing the Alpine white non-metallic and Black storm metallic choices for its 2016 model in the US. The adventure motorcycle is offered with an optional dynamic brake light with ABS Pro in the Riding Modes Pro package, in the European markets.
