The G310R will launch in European markets this year.
Overdrive states that BMW Motorrad has confirmed to the publication that the BMW G310R will not launch in India this calendar year. Instead the first bike from the TVS-BMW joint venture is expected to launch only in February-March 2017.
The BMW G310R will be manufactured by TVS in India at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. Motorcycles manufactured this year will reportedly be exported to European markets including BMW's home market in Germany. Earlier this month, BMW displayed the initial 41 launch markets of the G310R on its website, and India was not listed on that.
Power for the G310R comes from a 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces a healthy 34 PS at 9,500 and peak torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The four-valve engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox. As standard, the BMW G310R gets disc brakes at both ends and ABS, and tips the scale at 158.5 kg. BMW claims a top-speed of 143 km/h.
