BharatBenz enters Nepal with seven new trucks - IAB Report

The vehicles will be sold via the dealership in Birganj.

BharatBenz has officially entered the Nepalese market with a lineup of seven trucks. These will be sold via the Omni Trucking dealership based in Birganj.

BharatBenz trucks for the Nepalese market are manufactured at the company's plant in Oragadam, India.

The trucks are manufactured at the company's production facility in Oragadam on the outskirts of Chennai, India. The models launched in the mountain nation comprise of medium and heavy duty models, namely 914 R, 1214 R, 1217 C, 2523 C, 3123 R, and 4023 T.

Nepal is the first market where BharatBenz has exported its trucks to, while for the parent company Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), it's one of the 10 export markets, which it plans to increase to 15.

BharatBenz was introduced in September 2012, and has sold more than 16,000 vehicles ever since.

Launched in September 2012, BharatBenz has sold over 16,000 trucks. Last year, DICV produced the 20,000th truck at its facility in India, while more than 1,000 trucks were exported to various Asian and African markets, under the 'FUSO' brand.

Regrading the Nepalese venture, Mr. Erich Nesselhauf, CEO and MD of DICV said, "Entering the Nepalese market marks the next step in expanding our export business."
