The Bentley Continental GT3-R had its public debut at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed today. The "most dynamic and fastest accelerating Bentley ever made" is limited to 300 numbers.
Power for the Conti GT3-R comes from a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 580 PS and 700 Nm of torque. The company claims a 0-96 km/h acceleration time of 3.6 seconds, thanks partly due to 100 kg of weight saving (compared to the GT V8 S) and shorter gearing. The GT3-R uses an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
The GT3-R will be hand built at Crewe and finished by Bentley's motorsport department. The earlier mentioned weight saving was achieved by using lightweight components. The exhaust for example is made from titanium which helped in saving 7 kg.
