Here are five things we know about the Bajaj V.

1. Relation with INS Vikrant:

Bajaj Auto bought the scrap metal of the INS Vikrant and used it to make a part of the fuel tank of the Bajaj V. The motorcycle is marketed as a a way to preserve the memory of the nation's first aircraft carrier.

2. Product Position:

The Bajaj V slots between the Bajaj Discover 150 and the Bajaj Pulsar 150. The former is a high-displacement commuter while the latter is an entry-level performance commuter. The Bajaj V is touted as a premium commuter and a niche product.

3. Performance:

The motorcycle is powered by the familiar 149.5 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with DTS-i, that produces a maximum power of 11.8 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The motor is paired with a five-speed transmission.

4. Features:

The Bajaj V is equipped with a standard fork, conventional rear suspension setup, disc brake upfront, drum brake at the rear, analog-digital instrument cluster with colour-changing LED indications, alloy wheels, wide-profile tyres, premium-textured seat upholstery and removable rear seat cowl.

5. Price:

The Bajaj V15 is reportedly priced at INR 63,160 (ex-showroom, Pune), and INR 72,260 (on-road, Pune) The on-road Mumbai price is INR 72,000, all as per reports based on information from dealerships. Deliveries of the motorcycle is slated to start sometime next month.
