The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS, a sportier - at least in appearance - version of the Pulsar 200 NS, was spied at a dealership in Pune, signalling an imminent launch.
The bike was spied by fly-wheel's reader. The Pulsar 200 SS carries cosmetic changes to the 200 NS, giving it sportier front fairings and bulky mudguards, apart from a complete redesign of the headlamp and taillight.
The looks of the Pulsar 200 SS is more in line with that of the Pulsar 400 SS showcased at the Auto Expo 2014. The Pulsar 400 SS, coincidentally, is also set to be launched this year.
Some changes, however, are more evident. The front fairing gives the front-end a bulky look that makes it seem like the bike's heavy on the front.
The Pulsar 200 NS is powered by a 200 cc making 23 hp and 20 Nm of torque. The SS is expected to use the same engine, and could be churning out more power and torque. The bike will compete against models like the KTM Duke 200, TVS Apache 180, etc
Bajaj had earlier announced that after selling 2.4 million motorcycles across its portfolio in the 2013-14 fiscal year, it aims to sell 3 million units in this fiscal.
