Borrows its styling from the Pulsar 200 NS.
The sub-200 cc Bajaj Pulsar NS has been testing for quite a while now and here is a latest set of spyshots of the next variant which will be positioned above the aging Pulsar 150, going by reports.
In addition to the spyshots, Shifting-Gears reports that the displacement of the new Pulsar NS engine is around 160 cc rather than the initially expected displacement of 150 cc. The new air-cooled powerplant - details of which are still scarce and unconfirmed - breathes via four valves and could be employing the triple spark technology.
Visually, the Bajaj Pulsar 160 NS stays true to the bigger Pulsar 200 NS with a few visual differences like a conventional rear mud-guard, a rather skinny rear tyre (100/90-17) and the lack of radiator (the radiator housing however stays, channeling wind towards the engine).
The bigger bike's underbelly exhaust, rear monoshock, alloy wheel design and front petal disc have been retained. The smaller sibling however is not getting a rear disc brake.
With the 150 cc segment witnessing increased number of so called premium commuters, the entry level sportsbikes are gradually moving to the 150 cc -160 cc category (with the exception of the Yamaha FZ FI V2.0 series) to better justify the premium positioning.
