Bajaj Auto Ltd. will be launching the Discover 100M today, however the bike has already started arriving at dealerships. Seen in these images snapped from a Bajaj dealership in Alibag, Maharashtra, it would be safe to assume that deliveries would be commencing immediately.
Slotting in between the 100 and the 100T, the Bajaj Discover 100M is yet another offering in the commuter segment. Power comes from the same 102cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine. However, where the 100T gets a 5-speed gearbox, the 100M will only get a 4-speed unit.
The engine has been detuned in the interest of economy. As a result, the 100M produces 9.3 bhp and 0.92 kgm of torque, as compared to the 100T's 10.1 bhp and 0.94 kgm of torque.
The 100M distinguishes itself from the regular 100 thanks to its new body graphics, a petal-type disc brake and an altered exhaust system. Riding on a dual cradle steel frame, the 100M gets telescopic forks at the front and dual gas-charged Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear.
While the complete details will be confirmed later today, the 100M will be sold in red, blue, black with red, yellow or blue body graphics. Given that the 100M is being positioned in between the 100 and the 100T, we expect Bajaj to price it in a similar way at about INR 45,000 (ex-Showroom, Maharashtra).
Stay tuned for further updates from the launch.
