The export business of Bajaj Auto has grown by 20% in December, year on year. However, the domestic motorcycle sales between April to December 2017 has gone down by 7%, year to date (YTD).
Bajaj Auto sold 1,12,930 units in the month of December 2017, thus registering a 6% growth year on year. The 20% growth in the export market comes from the 1,15,832 units sold last month, when compared to the 96,647 unit sales in the same month in 2016. Coming to total motorcycle business in the domestic and international market, Bajaj has witnessed a 13% increase, despatching 2,28,762 units.

Including commercial vehicles, the Pune-based manufacturer has grown by 25% year on year in the domestic market selling 1,49,509 units. The combined export business has grown by 35% year on year, registering 1,43,038 units. In total (Domestic and export sales of motorcycles & commercial vehicles), the Indian brand has sold 2,92,547 units. This amounts to a growth of 30% compared to the same month last year. The commercial vehicles department has also witnessed highest ever sales in December, growing by a whopping 187% by despatching 63,785 units. This includes both domestic and international sales.

Coming to the sales performance from April to December, Bajaj has sold 14,76,990 motorcycles domestically, down by 7% compared to the same period in 2016. However, the export market has witnessed a 11% growth YTD, clocking 10,35,955 units. In total, the manufacturer has sold 25,12,945 units, with 0.23% decrease YTD. The total motorcycle and commercial vehicle business has grown by 3%, including domestic and export sales.
