Previews the high performance Audi SQ8.
At the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Audi has unveiled the Q8 Sport Concept, a high performance version of the Audi Q8 showcased at the 2017 Detroit Motor Show last January. It previews the Audi SQ8 crossover that could go on sale in 2018.
Compared the Q8 Concept from Detroit, the Q8 Sport has a more potent hybrid powertrain that combines a 3.0-litre TFSI V6 motor with 476 hp and 700 Nm, and a more powerful 20kW electric motor plus an electronic compressor to reduce turbo lag. It is claimed to accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 275 km/h.
Visually, the Q8 Sport has a black honeycomb octagonal grille with a contrasting gun metal surround, flanked by larger air intakes and sleek headlamps with an X motif.. A new body coloured bumper garnish juts out from underneath the front bumper too. The rear-end has an aggressive aluminium and carbon-fibre diffuser placed beside two large oval exhaust tips.
Slotting above the Audi SQ7 diesel, the Audi SQ8 will rival performance SUVs like the BMW X6 M, Mercedes GLE 63 AMG Coupe, and the Range Rover Sport SVR.
