Will be revealed next year, reportedly at the Geneva show.
Based on early camouflaged prototypes of the all-new Audi Q1, which is announced to be revealed in 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show, Indian Autos Blog's in-house artist, Shoeb, has created a digital mockup of Audi's forthcoming compact SUV.
Expected to measure in the region of 4.1-4.2 meters in length, the Q1 will be based on the VW Group's MQB platform, similar to the A3 Sedan which serves as Audi India's entry-level model. However, Audi's design team led by Marc Lichte will look towards the new Q7 for design inspiration, especially for the front fascia which gets Audi's six-point Singleframe grille and optional LED headlights.
According to reports, the Q1 will primarily be offered with a front-wheel drive setup, though Audi's Quattro AWD technology will be seen on variants higher up. The engine line-up of the Q1 will start from a 1.0-liter petrol engine reportedly, while more powerful gasoline engines could come in the form of a 1.4-liter TFSI and possibly a 1.8-liter TFSI. The diesel variants of the Q1 will rely on a 1.6-liter TDI four-cylinder unit.

Also, reports have pointed out that the Q1 could get VW's 10-speed gearbox which is under development, while a 6-speed manual will be a standard fitment.
An Indian market introduction of of the Q1 could be "interesting", Audi India's head, Mr. Joe King stated in an interview this year.
