The European media report that the concept will preview Audi's new generation design that could be seen on cars from the next generation Q7 which will be revealed in January at the Detroit Motor Show (2015 NAIAS).
The concept has been designed by Marc Lichte, Audi's new design chief, who talks about his design inspiration in the video. Lichte says he took inspiration from Audi's past cars like the first generation of the TT sportscar and the A8 luxury sedan, and the racing 90 Quattro IMSA GTO.
Speaking about the future of Audi's design language, Lichte says that he would like Audi to have a more emotional design. "The design should be timeless but at the same time very progressive. Quattro should be a design element on future Audis." The design chief also believes in making technology visible in the design.
Audi has not released any details about the concept yet, but reports point out that it will use the MLB Evo platform and will feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.
