The Aprilia Caponord 1200 Rally variant will join the tourer's lineup for the 2015 model year. The go-anywhere variant premiered at the INTERMOT 2014 today which is being held at Cologne, Germany.
The Caponord 1200 Rally features 19-inch spoke wheels for added impact tolerance. Other exclusive features include hard panniers with aluminium covers, LED daytime running lights, larger windshield and an armored sump.
The 1197 cc 90° V-twin engine is capable of 123.2 bhp and 114.66 Nm of torque. A multi-plate hydraulic wet clutch couples a 6-speed transmission to the liquid-cooled motor.
Just like the regular variants, the Caponord 1200 Rally is equipped with Aprilia's sophisticated suspension system with dynamic damping (ADD). An inverted telescopic fork setup at the front and a pre-loaded monoshock at the rear are supplied by Sachs.
The full-sized tourer measures 2,245 mm in length, 1,440 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,565 mm. The saddle height and fuel tank capacity stand at 840 mm and 24 litres respectively.
The standard equipment include ride-by-wire throttle with three engine maps, cruise control, traction control, patented ADD suspension system that automatically adapts its calibration to suit the riding style and road condition, and switchable ABS.
