Italian motorcycle brand MV Agusta has unveiled the new Superveloce 800 just a day before the 2019 EICMA show's doors open on 5 November in Milan, Italy. The new MV Agusta Superveloce 800 is the relatively affordable version of the Superveloce 800 Serie Oro that was unveiled at last year’s EICMA motorcycle show. The Superveloce 800 is listed at 19,900 euros (about INR 15.71 lakh).

In terms of design, the new Superveloce 800 carries the styling cues of the Superveloce 800 Serie Oro, although the relatively budget-spec model misses features like wire-spoke wheels and twin-pod exhaust. Instead, the new Superveloce 800 gets alloy wheels and F3 800/Brutale 800-style three-pod exhaust.
More changes are evident on the fuel tank, and the new Superveloce 800 uses a flush-type filler cap instead of the retro-style unit on the Serie Oro. The rider seat is identical to the premium version, although the new variant was revealed with a pillion seat setup. The pillion part of the saddle mimics the design of a rear cowl for a sporty look. A rear cowl is also available for the motorcycle. The rear tyre-hugger mounted number plate and blinkers offer a clean look to the tail section of the motorcycle, while the single-sided swingarm gives it a proper exotic and a premium look.
The front fascia, on the other hand, retains the round, LED headlight design for a retro-look. The windscreen, similar to the Serie Oro, retains the body-coloured panel highlight. The motorcycle retains the fairing design from the Serie Oro model as well. The tail continues to feature the round, LED stop-light. The motorcycle is available in two colour options:
- Ago Red / Dark Metallic Matt Grey
- Ice Pearl White / Dark Metallic Matt Grey / Ago Red
The mechanical specifications of the Superveloce 800 include a 798 cc liquid-cooled, three-cylinder, 12-valve engine that produces 148 hp of peak power at 13,000 rpm and 88 Nm of max torque at 10,900 rpm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from an MV EAS 2.0 (Electronically assisted Shift up & down) quick-shifter. The top speed is rated at 240 km/h. The four selectable riding modes include Sport, Race, Rain and Custom.
Braking department comprises 320 mm double floating discs at the front and 220 mm single steel disc at the back. Shock absorption tasks are handled by Marzocchi inverted telescopic hydraulic fork at the front and Sachs mono-shock at the back.
Announcing the new model, below is what MV Agusta said in a statement:
Superveloce 800 Serie Oro and Superveloce 800 bring MV Agusta’s timeless fascination to the roads, with their intoxicating curves, classic and contemporary at the same time. The engine and the chassis are the pinnacle of engineering that position the Superveloce 800 among the most fascinating and dynamic sports bikes on the scene.
