Bajaj Auto today announced its Q2 FY2020 performance and reported a consolidated profit after tax of INR 1,523 crore. The company also confirmed in the same announcement that the newly launched Pulsar 125 registered over 40,000 unit sales since its launch in August this year.

The entry-level version of the Pulsar family was launched in India at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 64,000*. The higher-spec (disc brake) variant of the Pulsar 125 retails at INR 66,618*. The more premium version of the Pulsar 125, which benefits from features like a split seat, engine cowl and Pulsar 150-inspired graphics, is available in select states at an ex-showroom tag of INR 70,618.

The smallest displacement Pulsar motorcycle in the Indian market uses a revised (smaller stroke) version of the Pulsar 150‘s engine. The 125 cc single-cylinder, DTS-i motor packs a first-in-segment counter-balancer to deliver a refined ride experience. The air-cooled mill, currently in BS-IV form, uses a carburettor and delivers 12 PS of max power and 11 Nm of peak torque.

The bigger Pulsar-inspired styling should appeal to buyers in the 125 cc space. Similar to the rest of the Pulsar range, the 125 cc member of the family uses conventional telescopic front forks and gas-charged, twin-sided rear springs to perform the shock absorption tasks. The base model comes with drum brakes on both wheels while the higher-spec version packs a disc at the front. The anchoring department is governed by the safety net of CBS tech. Regular readers would know that the Pulsar 125 uses a mechanical CBS setup (instead of a hydraulic unit).

The Pulsar 125 is available in three colour options - Solar Red, Platinum Silver and Neon Blue (with Matte Black body).

Apart from the Pulsar 125, the company also announced that the CT brand registered over 1,34,000 unit sales in Q2 of FY2020. The new CT 110, which was launched in June 2019, contributed over 72,000 units to that number. The Platina brand secured over 1,40,000 unit sales. The new Platina 110 H, which was launched in June 2019, contributed over 66,000 units in that number. The Avenger range saw over 1,74,000 unit sales during the same period.
