Unveiled in production form at EICMA 2017, the KTM 790 Duke is the Austrian answer to the world of naked streetfighter middleweights. KTM calls it the scalpel and boy it has all of us excited and sitting on the edge of our seats. The motorcycle is set to launch in India later this month and has started reaching dealerships. Rushlane has revealed an image of the brochure of the motorcycle.

The leaked KTM 790 Duke brochure confirms that the Indian version will have the same output as the European unit.

One of the most awaited bikes in India this year in the premium territory, the KTM 790 Duke is being manufactured in India as a CKD. This means that the bike is imported by KTM India as parts and assembled in Pune.

The KTM 790 Duke is the first middleweight naked motorcycle to be fitted with an Inertial Measurement Unit within its electronics package. The latter includes ride-by-wire, traction control, riding modes (Street, Rain, Sport and Track). A lean-sensitive traction control, like the one in the KTM 790 Duke, presides over the engine output, giving the rider ideal amounts of power depending on the riding conditions and need.

The bike also comes with Motor Slip Regulation which prevents the rear wheel from locking off accidentally while downshifting. Besides that, the KTM 790 Duke gets Motorcycle Stability Control with cornering ABS. A quick-shifter further reduces gear shift times with clutchless shifts.

Powering the KTM 790 Duke is a 799 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC mill. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox the engine can churn out 105 PS of power and 87 Nm of torque. Anchoring all this power are twin 300 mm discs up front with radially mounted 4-piston callipers. The rear gets a single 240 mm disc with 2-piston callipers. Suspension duties are taken care of by 43 mm upside-down WP fork in the front and a monoshock at the rear.
