Bookings for the motorcycle have been underway at Triumph Motorcycle dealerships across the country. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 is sold in two variants in the international market – the XC (base) and the XE (top). The Indian market gets only the XC variant although the XE variant could arrive based on the demand for the motorcycle. Do note that Triumph Motorcycles introduced the range-topping Tiger 800 XCa in our country nearly a year after the launch of the Tiger XCx, XRx, and XC.

The off-road focussed motorcycle comes equipped with wire-spoke wheels, with a 21-inch wheel at the front for better off-road capabilities. The rear uses a 17-inch wheel. The cross-spoke design of the wire-spoke wheels brings the convenience of tubeless tyres to the motorcycle. A similar configuration is also seen on the BMW R nineT Scrambler. Other off-road focussed features include a bash plate to protect the engine and tall set exhaust pipes.

The 2nd generation TFT screen comes with an optional Bluetooth connectivity module. The optional extra brings GoPro control system, controls for phone and music operation and ‘turn-by-turn’ navigation to the package. Heated grips and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) are also a part of the optional package. Other information displayed on the screen includes speedometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, a trip computer, fuel gauge, clock, rider modes and service indicator. The standard equipment on the motorcycle includes full-LED lighting (headlight, blinkers and tail lamp), cruise control, keyless ignition system and USB charging socket.

The 1,200 cc, 270° crank angle parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC, 8-valve engine on the Triumph Scrambler 1200 makes 89 hp of maximum power at 7,400 rpm and 110 Nm of peak torque at 3,950 rpm. The engine employs a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle uses five riding modes – Rain, Road, Sport, Offroad, and Rider-Customizable.
