Micromax's co-founder Rahul Sharma has revealed the brand name and the product strategy for his new electric motorcycle company Revolt Intellicorp. An R&D team, based in Gurgaon headquarters, has been working on the electric motorcycle project for two years. The upcoming electric motorcycle would feature Long-Term Evolution (LTE) or 4G connectivity via a SIM card to enable smart functions. Sharma aims to gain a double-digit market share with the new electric two-wheeler brand.
Do note that a similar feature is already seen on Ather’s 340 and 450 electric scooters. The Ather 340 and 450 come with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features navigation, alerts, and stores digital copies of the documents such as driving license, registration and insurance details. The instrument console on the scooter syncs with a smartphone app via GSM network to provide LIVE information about the 340 and the 450. The vehicle also records the GPS data and riding pattern including acceleration, braking and cornering.
It should be interesting to see what Revolt Intellicorp offers. More details will be revealed closer to the launch.
Speaking about the brand and the strategy, Rahul Sharma, Founder, Revolt Intellicorp said:
As a mechanical engineer by qualification, I always found mobility and the expanse of opportunities it offers, very intriguing. There is a colossal need for using technology to disrupt urban commute and make it cleaner and sustainable. I'm doing my bit and I feel this is the right time for every player operating in this space to come together for the greater good of our environment. My vision is to see every household in India have access to sustainable mobility.
In terms of hardware, Revolt Intellicorp would import the battery pack and the motor while an in-house team would develop the Battery Management System and Electronic Control Unit. The top speed is claimed to be 85 km/h and the real world range is claimed to be over 150 km per full charge. Apart from the motorcycle, Revolt Intellicorp would create a charging infrastructure across the city. The eco-friendly two-wheeler is likely to support fast charging.
