Tork Motorcycles launched the T6X in September 2016 at an ex-factory price of INR 1.25 lakh. Deliveries of the bike were expected to commence from March 2017 although the company CFO confirmed in November last year that the shipments are delayed.

The test mule, captured by motoring portal Thrust Zone, was seen with camouflage on the bodywork and battery pack. As seen in the images, the motorcycle is built around a trellis frame that uses the battery pack as the stressed member. The alloy wheel design is identical to the motorcycle that was revealed by the company.

Mechanical specifications include a 6 kW electric motor that delivers out 8 bhp of maximum power and 27 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is linked to a chain drive and can propel the bike to a top speed of 100 kph. The claimed battery range on full charge stood at 100 km. The battery pack could be charged up to 80 per cent in just an hour while a full charge could take two hours. The T6X could be used in two power modes – Sports and Economy.

Stopping power comes with disc brakes on both ends while the safety net includes CBS that is mandatory for electric bikes with up to 11 kW/15 PS motor. The T6X rides on conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear.

There is no direct threat to the motorcycle as there is no other electric motorcycle (not scooters) in the Indian market although it could face some rivalry from the likes of Ather 450. The new launch details are still concealed although we could see the Tork T6X arrive by early 2020. Expect the electric bike to carry a price tag around the INR 1.5 lakh (ex-factory) mark. Apart from introducing the motorcycle, the company also plans to install 100 charging points in cities like Pune, Bangalore and Delhi.
