The Royal Enfield 650 Twins have received tremendous response from all the markets, which has resulted in the high waiting period.

The report claims that the Royal Enfield 650 Twins have received an encouraging response in all the markets including India. To meet the increasing demand, the company plans to increase its production capacity next month. Speaking to the business publication, Mr Siddhartha Lal, CEO and MD, Eicher Motors, said:

"From the current rate of around 2,500 a month we will double production of the 650 twins to 4,500-5,000 units a month by end of March."

Mr Lal revealed that the Royal Enfield 650 Twins make for an ideal upgrade for its existing customers. The head honcho further explained that the Royal Enfield 650 Twins provide a substantial update over the 350cc and 500cc motorcycles in terms of power, fit & finish and features. Moreover, he cited that the higher demand for the 650 Twins is because earlier, customers ended up buying only the 350cc bikes as the 500cc models didn't offer any significant differentiation.

It should be noted that 70 per cent of Royal Enfield's overall sales come from the 350 range. Apart from increasing the production capacity, the company is also expanding its dealership reach. Royal Enfield inaugurated 20 dealerships in the last quarter of 2018 and plans to add 20 more showrooms by the end of March, taking its tally to over 900 outlets in the country.
