The 2019 Maruti Wagon R was launched on 23 January 2019 and found over 15,000 takers in the first month of its sales. While the third-gen Wagon R seems to have struck a chord with all those looking for a practical entry-level hatchback, Instagram user Radya Triadhie has come up with a speculative rendering of the 2019 Suzuki Wagon R Works with a 'slammed' look.

While based on the India-spec 2019 Maruti Wagon R, the 2019 Suzuki Wagon R seems to take inspiration from the JDM-spec Suzuki Alto Works.

Seemingly inspired by the performance-focussed Suzuki Alto Works model, the 2019 Suzuki Wagon R Works features a list of updates that give it a more rugged appearance. The list of changes includes a custom body kit, lowered ride height,  new alloy wheels shod with performance tires, bigger brakes, bespoke bronze colour, a wire mesh lower grille, dark chrome accents, Works badge, body decals, short pole antenna, rear spoiler, and tinted glass. Together, all these updates make the otherwise family-oriented hatchback look decidedly sportier and more driver-focused.

While the 2019 Suzuki Wagon R works is strictly a figment of imagination, Maruti Suzuki offers as many as three styling packages for the latest generation of its tallboy. These accessories packs, which are called Robust, Playtime and Casa, offer numerous add-ons in the form of wheel arch claddings, side mouldings, door visors, and interior styling kits.

The 2019 Maruti Wagon R is underpinned by the company's fifth-gen Heartect platform and is available with two petrol engine options - K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder and K12M 1.2-litre four-cylinder. The former produces 67.98 PS/90 Nm, while the latter offers 82.94 PS/113 Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, while select trims are available with an optional 5-speed AMT. The 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre engine options offer an ARAI-tested fuel efficiency of 22.5 km/l and 21.5 km/l, respectively.
