The 2019 BMW X5 has been launched in India in a price range of INR 72.99-82.40 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The fourth generation of the company's renowned SAV is based on the CLAR platform and is substantially bigger than its predecessors.

2019 BMW X5 is available in three metallic exterior finishes - Mineral White, Phytonic Blue and Black Sapphire - and five interior upholstery options - Ivory White, Black & Coffee, Black & Cognac, Black and Black and Black.

The 2019 BMW X5 features a completely updated and more modern skin, while its interior has been kitted out with several additional features. The highlight of the aesthetics department is the latest iteration of the company's signature kidney grille, which now looks more imposing owing to its larger size. The LED headlights now get new adaptive LED DRLs, and the front-end even carries a bolder bumper with larger air-vents and new LED fog lamps. While the side profile features a silhouette that will be quick to remind you of the previous generation model, the tauter surfaces and the increased footprint help the new model look bolder than the earlier version. The highlights of the rear include stylish wrap-around LED tail-lights and a bolder bumper.

The 2019 BMW X5 is substantially larger than the previous model in all dimensional aspects, which directly leads to a more spacious cabin. It features 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats that help to extend its boot space from 650 litres to 1,870 litres. The dashboard features two 12.3-inch digital screens, while the analogue instrumentation of the previous version has made way for an all-digital panel. Even the infotainment unit has been updated, while the latest X5 even benefits from the company's Parking Assistant Plus function.

The new Audi Q7-rival is available with two engine options. The xDrive 40i variant is propelled by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turb0-petrol engine that outputs 250 kW (340 hp) and 450 Nm torque. On the other hand, the xDrive30d version gets its juice from a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that churns out 195 kW (265 hp) and 620 Nm. Both the variants come with 8-speed Steptronic transmission and all-wheel-drive as standard. Also, the engines are BS-VI compliant.

Dr. Hans-Christian Baertels, President (act.), BMW Group India said, “BMW established the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) segment with the launch of BMW X5 in 1999. The BMW X5 has been the best-selling car in this segment for many years and has become one of our most successful models. The fourth generation embodies this model’s typical characteristics – versatility, sovereignty and luxury. Combining an elegant and strong design with supreme on and off-road ability, the all-new BMW X5 has an even greater blend of premium luxury performance, technology and comfort.”
