The BMW 745Le can achieve a pure electric range of 52-55 km. BMW 745e pictured for reference.

The report says that BMW will offer the facelifted 7 Series in India in even the 745Le engine variant, which is a replacement for the 740Le engine variant of the pre-facelift car. The company makes the new model in a standard wheelbase 745e engine variant as well, as a replacement for the 740e engine variant of the pre-facelift car, but it won't sell that here. Neither the 740e nor the 740Le made it here, but of the 745e and 745Le, the latter will.

The BMW 740e (SWB) and BMW 740Le shared a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (258 PS/400 Nm) and an electric motor (113 PS/250 Nm) getting its juice from a 9.2 kWh Lithium-ion battery. They had a pure electric range of 44-48 km*. An xDdrive AWD system option was available in the long-wheelbase version, and it brought down the pure electric range to 41-45 km*.

The BMW 745e (SWB) and BMW 745e (LWB) share a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine (286 PS/450Nm) and an updated electric motor (113 PS/265 Nm) getting its juice from a new, 12.0 kWh Lithium-ion battery. An xDdrive AWD system option is available in the long-wheelbase version, and it could be offered in our market as well. The 745e, 745Le and 745Le xDdrive can achieve a pure electric range of up to 54-58 km**, 52-55 km** and 50-54 km** respectively.

The plug-in hybrid variant(s) will be imported via the CBU route and sit at top of the range, which will include the 740Li and 730Ld carried over engine variants too. The 740Li will feature an updated 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine producing 340 PS (+14 PS) and 450 Nm (±0 Nm). The 730Ld will have the same 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine (265 PS/320 Nm). The plug-in hybrid engine variant(s) will be available with options like individual four-seat layout featuring fold-out tables, Integral Active Steering (rear-wheel steering) and a premium audio system from Bowers & Wilkins.
