The 2019 Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise ABS has started reaching dealerships across the country. According to a 11 January report, the Avenger 220 Cruise ABS will retail at INR 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). As compared to the non-ABS model, the Avenger 220 ABS is around INR 6,700 more expensive.

Bajaj dealerships across India have started taking pre-bookings for the 2019 Avenger 220 ABS. Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of this month or early next month. Similar to the Pulsar range, the Avenger 200 series will feature a single-channel ABS unit along with a rear-wheel lift protection (RLP) sensor.

The upcoming safety guidelines that come into force from 1 April 2019 mandates all two-wheelers above 125cc to be equipped with ABS, while those below 125cc will have to be fitted with CBS (Combined Braking System).

The Bajaj Avenger range clocks monthly sales of up to 6,000 units, with the Avenger 220 garnering over 3,000-units. With the next-generation Bajaj Avenger set to be introduced in 2020, the Pune-based manufacturer plans to generate higher volumes with the new model.

The Bajaj Avenger 220 is powered by a 220cc, oil-cooled, triple-spark, single-cylinder engine that generates 19 PS of maximum power and 17.5 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a five-speed gearbox that transfers drive to the wheel via a chain drive.
