India Yamaha Motor is expected to launch the ABS versions of the Yamaha R15 V3.0 in India in Q1 2019, dealerships IAB spoke to have revealed.
India Yamaha Motor launched the 2018 Yamaha R15 V3.0 in India at the Auto Expo 2018 in February at INR 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Over the period, Yamaha has increased the prices of the new YZF-R15 V3.0 in the country by INR 2,000. The R15 V3.0 is the highest-selling fully-faired motorcycle in the country, with 15,008 units sold in October.
A report dated 5 October, suggests that Yamaha has already started road testing the R15 V3.0 ABS version in India. The upcoming safety norms mandate two-wheelers above 125cc to feature standard ABS from 1 April 2019. The company has also introduced the Yamaha R15 V3.0 MotoGP edition, priced at INR 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) as a top-spec variant.

The Yamaha R15 V3.0 is the first motorcycle in its segment to feature a slipper clutch as a standard fitment. The bike uses a 155cc, liquid-cooled motor that is mated to a six-speed gearbox. It develops 19 bhp of power and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. The engine is equipped with first-in-segment variable valve actuation (VVA) technology.

Unlike the Indonesian-spec model, which features USD front forks, the Indian version comes with conventional 41 mm telescopic units, although, the linkage-type adjustable mono-shock is carried over. Other components include 17-inch light wheels that pair with MRF Revz tubeless tyres. The Yamaha R15 V3.0 doesn't have any direct competition as such. It competes with the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, which is a segment above.
