Yamaha R1 GYTR priced at EUR 39,400 (INR 31.50 lakh), limited to 20 examples

Yamaha has announced the price of the limited edition YZF-R1 GYTR, which will retail at a staggering 39,400 Euros (INR 31.50 lakh). The Yamaha R1 GYTR debuted at Italy's EICMA 2018 last month.

The Yamaha R1 GYTR celebrates 20 years of the iconic YZF-R1 superbike, and therefore, it is limited to 20 units globally. All pieces have been spoken for and apparently, none of them are en route to India. The YZF-R1 GYTR is a track-only superbike. Apart from the R1 GYTR, the company had showcased the Yamaha R3 GYTR at the EICMA 2018.

The limited-edition Yamaha R1 GYTR adorns the red and white livery of the Yamaha Factory Racing Team, which was used for the Suzuka 8 Hours race bike. Yamaha won the Suzuka endurance race title for the fourth consecutive year in 2018.

This Yamaha R1 GYTR limited edition features a race-derived ECU (engine control unit) along with a CCU (computer control unit). The motorcycle is equipped with race-spec Ohlins FGRT 219 upside-down forks at the front and a TTX36 GP fully-adjustable mono-shock at the back.

Braking hardware includes top-shelf Brembo M50 monobloc callipers at the front. The Yamaha YZF-R1 GYTR also features an Akrapovic Full Evo 2 titanium exhaust, which helps in considerable weight savings. The motorcycle comes with a complete carbon fibre bodywork, which includes the front and side fairing, fuel tank cover, front and rear mudguards, and the ram air-duct.

According to the company, each unit of the Yamaha R1 GYTR will be tailor-made to the owner’s requirements, and the Yamaha Factory Racing Team is assigned to take care of the process. Every motorcycle will have a series number engraved on the top yoke, while an authenticity certificate will be issued to the owner.

Yamaha hasn’t revealed the engine specifications of the limited-edition R1 GYTR. The stock Yamaha R1 employs a 998cc, inline four-cylinder motor that churns out 194.3 bhp (200 PS) of maximum power at 13,500 rpm and 112.4 Nm of peak torque at 11,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed transmission.
