The DS 7 Crossback, a luxury C-SUV from Groupe PSA, has been spied testing in New Delhi by wheelbhp.com. This is the French SUV's first sighting in India.
The DS 7 Crossback was introduced in early 2017 and is now on sale internationally. It has reached India probably just for the testing of the components it shares with the Citroen C5 Aircross, which is said to go on sale here in 2019. Both C-SUVs ride on the EMP2 platform and use PureTech petrol and BlueHDi diesel engines. The extravagant DS 7 Crossback should help the PSA Group get the word spreading out in the Indian market about its re-entry much better than the funky Citroen C5 Aircross.
Internationally, the DS 7 Crossback is available with multiple powertrain options. The petrol powerplants include 1.2-litre and 1.6-litre motors, while the two oil-burners on offer displace 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre, respectively. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed auto 'box. The highlight, however, is a plug-in hybrid variant that will be introduced next year. It offers a maximum power of 300 hp and comes mated to the new-generation Efficient Automatic Transmission 8-speed (EAT8). It is even equipped with 4wd hardware.

The Citroen C5 Aircross was launched in China in 2017 and in Europe in May 2018. It is expected to be brought to India via the CKD route, with the assembly taking place in Chennai. In all likelihood, the new model will be imported to our shores from the company's Rennes – La Janais plant in France.
