Readers would remember the BMW G310 RR Concept showcased at the BMW Motorrad Days in Japan. In more updates, Japanese motorcycle magazine YoungMachine now reveals a completed version of the prototype. Re-named the BMW G310 SS, the motorcycle is a collaboration between the magazine and Aetek, a company famous for its exterior parts and produces full cowls using Young machine's renders.

The final (unofficial) prototype of BMW G310 SS uses carbon-fibre bodywork and revised ergonomics that are sportier than the G310 R naked roadster.

The body of the motorcycle is finished in a luxurious dry carbon observed on the fairing, fuel tank, fenders and rear panel. The fascia features Centre Air duct mimicking the litre-class BMW S1000RR. The tail comes with a Moto3 style, under-seat exhaust.

The design of the final prototype is not drastically different from what was presented at the BMW Motorrad Days in Japan. Unlike the previous generation BMW S1000RR, you would see the symmetric design for the headlights. Do remember that the latest iteration of the S1000RR also comes with symmetric lights but they are sleeker.

The motorcycle is based on the BMW G310 R and thus at the heart of the concept is the 313 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-valves, DOHC, reverse inclined engine that churns out 34 PS of maximum power at 9,500 rpm & 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The performance numbers on the SS model are not likely to be any different from the other G310 variants.

Braking setup seems to have been carried forward from the G310 R. A 300 mm single disc with a 4-piston fixed calliper at the front and a 240 mm single disc with a single-piston floating calliper at the rear provide stopping power.

Unlike the previous generation model, the prototype does not use an asymmetric headlight design. The rear features a Moto3 style underseat exhaust.

As mentioned above, the prototype is a creation of YoungMachine and Aetek. BMW Motorrad is not drawing up plans for a fully faired version of the G310 R. It’s Indian partner, TVS Motor Company already offers the Apache RR310 that uses the same engine and the frame (with revised sub-frame).
