Earlier this week, we reported about the launch of the ABS variant of Thunderbird 350X in India. In the latest, the company has introduced the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 ABS in the country, for a price of at INR 1.54 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The on-road price in Mumbai, including registration and the 5-year insurance is INR 1.84 lakh. Like the Thunderbird 350X, the base Thunderbird 350 comes equipped with dual-channel ABS. Both the motorcycles have started reaching dealerships nationwide.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 is a cruiser motorcycle with relaxed ergonomics, large fuel tank, backrest and a butterfly handlebar. It rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels wrapped in 90/90-section front and 120/80-section rear MRF Nylogrip tyres.
The Thunderbird 350 features a twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster, projector headlight, split seats and an LED taillight. Suspension setup comprises telescopic front forks and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the back. Stopping power comes from a 240 mm rear rotor and a 280 mm front disc.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 ABS is powered by the same 346 cc, single-cylinder engine that powers the entire 350 range. The four-stroke carburetted motor is tuned to generate 19.8 bhp of maximum power at 5,250 rpm and developing 28 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. A 5-speed gearbox transfers control to the wheel via a chain drive.
In addition to the ABS variants on the Thunderbird and the Classic range, the company has also launched the rear disc version of the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. However, ABS is yet to be introduced on the Bullet 350, a safety feature will be offered as standard fitment from 1 April 2019. Today, Royal Enfield will launch the 650 Twins in India.
