IAB reader Abinash Panigrahi has posted a video showing the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X ABS. By the looks of it, the first batch of the updated motorcycle has started reaching the dealerships. While prices are yet to be revealed, the dual channel ABS-equipped version is likely to cost up to INR 10,000 higher than the non-ABS version.

Currently, the Thunderbird 350X is on sale at INR 1.57 lakh (ex-showroom). As per the company, the trendier version of the T'bird is targeted at ‘individualistic, bold, urban riders.’ The motorcycle carries a black base colour theme along with a contrast colour for the fuel tank.

The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X sports 9-spoke alloy wheels. The diameters of the front and rear wheels measure 19-inch and 18-inch, respectively. They are shod with 90-section front, and 120-section rear MRF Nylogrip Zapper tubeless tires. The cruiser motorcycle sports a flat handlebar that allows a more aggressive riding position than the Thunderbird 350. Yet another highlight is the ‘gunslinger’ style seat along with split grab-rails for the pillion. The smaller rear fender gives the retro-styled motorcycle a clean and clutter-free look.

Other than the ABS brake, the motorcycle remains completely unchanged. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is powered by a 346 cc single-cylinder motor that outputs 19.8 bhp at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission.

Suspension components at include telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X features a 280 mm disc brake at the front along with a 240 mm unit at the back. The introduction of the dual-channel ABS enables the motorcycle to attain compliance with safety norms from April 1, 2019 that mandate all two-wheelers with an engine displacement of more than 125cc to feature this safety net.
